Year One: Foundation
Fall Semester
ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān
This course will give students the ability to explain different subjects as they pertain to the Sciences of the Qurʾān. Students will study the revelation, authenticity, preservation, and miraculous nature of the Qurʾān.
Fiqh of Ṣalāh and Ṭahārah
Students cover the essentials of the Ḥanafī School of Law. This course aims to ensure that students learn the fundamentals of ṭahārah (ritual purity) and ṣalāh which students will use for the rest of their lives.
Spring Semester
Dismantling Doubts
Students cover the foundational beliefs of Islam. Through in-depth study, students gain a comprehensive understanding of Islamic creed, reinforcing their faith and guiding their practice of Islam.
Tafsīr of the Last 10 Surahs
Students undergo a detailed exploration of the meanings and context of the last 10 surahs of the Qurʾān, gaining profound insights into their spiritual themes and practical guidance, thereby enhancing their overall comprehension of the Qurʾān.

Year Two
Classical Arabic
In the second year at Nueces Seminary, students deepen their Islamic studies by focusing on the mastery of Classical Arabic. They learn to translate a variety of important texts, including the renowned al-Ājurrūmiyyah, a foundational work in Arabic grammar.
This rigorous study sharpens their linguistic skills, allowing them to engage with classical Islamic literature in its original language. Year 2 is an essential step for those dedicated to gaining a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings through the rich tradition of Arabic scholarship.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Year 1
Year Three
Advanced Studies
Year 3 at Nueces Seminary is designed for students who are ready to dive deeper into the complexities of Classical Arabic and Islamic scholarship. This program offers a more rigorous study of advanced Arabic texts, challenging students to apply their language skills to a broader range of literature.
Through intensive analysis and discussion, students engage with classical works, enhancing their understanding and interpretation of Islamic teachings. This year marks a pivotal point in the seminary experience, as students refine their scholarly abilities and prepare for advanced levels of Islamic study.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Year 2
